Kitchen Remodeling Bellevue, WA: Planned Before Demolition

4.9 from 49 Google reviews

Nip Tuck Remodeling designs and builds kitchens, baths and whole homes across Seattle's Eastside. Every detail and every trade price is settled before construction, so projects finish within about 2% of the estimate.

A Bellevue kitchen remodeling firm that plans first and builds second

Nip Tuck Remodeling has handled kitchen remodeling Bellevue-wide and across Seattle's Eastside since 2010. Founder April Bettinger built a woman-owned design-build firm where designers, project managers and trade partners work as one team.

Kitchens are the firm's stated specialty, and the same team handles primary baths and whole-home remodels.

The difference shows up before demolition. Floor plans, finishes, structural needs and real pricing from every trade are locked in first.

That is why Nip Tuck projects land within about 2% of the original estimate, against an industry norm of 10 to 20%. One Google reviewer called the finished kitchen "the center place of our home" a year later.

Kitchen Remodeling

Custom cabinetry, a well-placed island, layered task and undercabinet lighting, and surfaces such as quartzite, porcelain and hardwood. Appliance and finish choices are made early, during design, so the schedule and budget hold once the crew starts work in your kitchen.

Bathroom Remodeling

Primary and guest baths planned around daily routines, with custom storage, lighting placed for mirrors and mood, and comfort features like zero-threshold showers, heated floors and ergonomic vanity heights. Primary bathrooms often take 8 to 10 weeks from the start of construction.

Whole-Home Remodels

Multi-room remodels that rework flow, light and storage across a main floor or an entire house. The Medina Cottage on the Course project added a new dining area and earned a 2026 REX Award, and the firm's work has appeared on the Remodeled Homes Tour.

One-Room Remodels

A streamlined version of the full Nip Tuck process for a single space: laundry rooms, guest baths, fireplaces and living rooms. Materials and lighting are chosen to match future phases, so one room can be the first step toward a larger plan.

Nip Tuck Interiors

Once construction wraps, the interior design team led by Design Director Allison can finish the rooms with full-service furnishings, custom window treatments and styling. It keeps the look of a new kitchen or main floor consistent all the way to the furniture.

April and her team are exceptionally detailed in ways I never could have imagined a contractor would be. Even through weather delays and unexpected problems she was professional and caring and her team were exactly the same. I never thought I would say this for any remodel but it was worth every penny. My home looks amazing.

Questions to ask before your Eastside remodel

How long does a kitchen or bathroom remodel take?

According to Nip Tuck's own guidance, primary bathrooms often take 8 to 10 weeks, and a kitchen combined with a main-floor remodel may run around three months. Those figures cover construction. Design and selections happen first, because the firm will not start building until the plan is complete and approved.

How close will the final cost be to the estimate?

Nip Tuck reports that its projects finish within about 2% of the original estimated investment, compared with an industry norm of 10 to 20%. Before construction, floor plans are finalized, finishes are selected, structural requirements are confirmed and real pricing is collected from every trade partner on the job.

Will you take on just one room?

Yes. One-room remodels use a streamlined version of the Nip Tuck process for laundry rooms, primary and guest bathrooms, fireplaces and living rooms. A single primary bath or kitchen gets the same standard of care as a whole-home project. The investment scale is different, and choices are made to fit later phases.

When is Nip Tuck not the right fit?

The firm says so up front. It may not suit you if you are remodeling mainly to sell, plan to do part of the work yourself, have fixed the budget before design starts, or need to move fast. Its process favors thorough planning, so a short call usually settles the question.

What does Happiness Guaranteed mean?

It is Nip Tuck's promise that you should be happy with the whole experience, not only the finished room. In practice that means weekly check-ins, third-party surveys at contract signing and at completion, and a planning-first process. April Bettinger explains it in her book of the same name.
